    Basic Manners is tailored for dogs aged over 6 months.   • Intermediate Manners

    Intermediate manners are suitable for graduates of basic manners. We will enhance the skills we've already learned and explore how to apply them in real-world situations. We will be working on, leash walking, place cue, recall, wait, stay cue leave it, and impulse control.

  • Puppy Kindergarten

    6 Week class - 1 Hour - $200

    Puppy Kindergarten is the perfect opportunity for any dog under 6 months. Join us for an exciting journey filled with basic cues: sit, down, wait, impulse control, valuable exposure training, and expert guidance on raising a happy and healthy puppy.

  • Pattern Games in Conditioning

    4 weeks - 1 Hour - $140

    The Conditioning class offers an excellent opportunity to keep your dog engaged while teaching them new ways to maintain their physical fitness. Throughout the course, we will delve into proper form for our canine companions and introduce a variety of exercises to enhance their fitness levels. This class is suitable for dogs of any age, and we will tailor the exercises to suit each dog's appropriate fitness level.

    Over the next four weeks, we'll work on pattern games and how we can use them in conditioning work.

  • Skills in the real world

    6 Week Class - 1 Hour - $200

    Ready to take your training skills into the wild? Join us for the six-week, one-hour class to practice all the skills you learned in your previous manners classes. This is a great way to generalize and build upon the skills you already know.

    It is recommended that you complete at least one manners class before taking this class. This class will meet at different locations in Mystic, Stonington, and Pawcatuck. 

  • Recall in the real world

    6 Week Class - 45 minutes - $120

    Want to build your recall in the real world? Join us for this six-week class, 45 minutes per session, at a new location each week, to strengthen your real-world recall.

    This class will meet at different locations in Mystic, Stonington and Pawcatuck 

  • Polite Greetings

    Does your dog struggle with greeting people politely? Join our short three-week program to perfect the skill of polite greetings! All skill levels welcome.

  • Intro to Rally Obedience

    4 Week Class - 1 Hour - $140

    In this class, you and your dog will navigate a course together, working side-by-side as you guide your dog through various signs. Each sign provides instructions for the next skill to be performed. The dog and handler will move continuously throughout the course, with the dog positioned at the handler’s left side. This activity emphasizes teamwork between you and your dog as you complete the numbered signs.

    We will cover the basics of this sport while practicing small courses. This experience is beneficial for improving your leash walking skills and your dog's attention, all while strengthening the bond between you and your pet.   • CGC Prep class/ Advanced Manners

    6 Week Class - 1 Hour - $200

    The CGC/Advanced Manners class is designed for graduates of intermediate manners training. Each week, we will focus on different components of the CGC test. This class is suitable for teams who are interested in taking the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test or who are seeking an advanced manners training opportunity. The CGC test will be scheduled for a separate date at the end of the class, and participation is not mandatory. If you are preparing for the CGC test, this class would be an excellent choice to help you get ready.

  • Shed Hunt & Lost Item Workshop

    Join us for an exciting workshop where you’ll learn how to train your dog to find sheds (deer antlers) and your lost items.

    This workshop introduces the North American Sport Dog Association (NASDA) and focuses on scent training. We will teach dogs to locate sheds and lost items using their sense of smell.

    Sarai Buonomo, an expert on the topic, will join us to share her knowledge and expertise.

    We will work inside at Lucky Dog for the first half of the session, then outside for the second half. During the second half, everyone will take turns individually working on both topics.

  • Therapy Dog 1

    If you want to share the love and joy your dog brings, this is the first step!  In this class we will explore the many facets of being a therapy dog team and help determine if therapy dog work is a right fit for both you and your dog.  We will go beyond basic manners and learn new skills such as interacting with strangers and working through distractions to give you and your dog the strong foundation necessary to be successful as a therapy team.

    Skills we will practice:

    Greet a friendly stranger calmly, without fear or aggression 

    Be petted and handled without stress (including having ears & feet checked) 

    Walk politely next to you through a crowd, without pulling or being scared 

    Stay calm around loud noises or unusual movements 

    Follow basic obedience cues 

    Enthusiastic petting from different people at once 

    Surprising sounds and gestures, like staggering movements or loud voices 

    Gentle hugs, holding, or light restraint, like they might experience from a child or someone with limited mobility 

    Encounters with a dog to see how they react in shared spaces 

    A “leave it” exercise to ensure they can ignore things they shouldn’t touch, like a tempting toy on the ground 

  • Class Sampler

    The Class Sampler is a 6-week program where we explore a different topic each week. We will cover conditioning, tricks, scent work, Rally, and more. This class is designed for graduates of basic manners training. Please note that this is not a manners class; rather, it is an opportunity to explore various training topics. Each team must have a foundation in basic training to participate in this class.

  • Nail Workshop

    1 Hour Workshop - $35

    Does your dog hate having their nails trimmed? Join us for this hour- long workshop to learn how to safely trim your dog’s nails and discover alternatives to traditional nail trims, along with tips to make the process more comfortable.

    Puppy preschool is the perfect opportunity for any dog aged 8 weeks to 4 months. Ensure your furry friend has received their first round of vaccines and join us for an exciting journey filled with basic cues: sit, down, wait, impulse control, valuable exposure training, and expert guidance on raising a happy and healthy puppy.

    This is the first class of two for puppies. Preschool comes first then Kindergarten.

  • Holiday Pup
